Bio in brief...
At present, I work as the State Public Health Veterinarian for the Wyoming Dept. of Health.
I communicate with and respond to internal partners, external stakeholders, healthcare providers, veterinarians, and the public regarding potential rabies exposures to ensure the implementation of appropriate public health measures.
I also collaborate with epidemiologists and local health partners to educate healthcare providers, veterinarians, stakeholders, and the public about zoonotic disease and prevention and environmental health impacts.
I oversee blood lead level surveillance and lead exposure mitigation activities, and provide subject matter expertise in response to outbreaks and public health emergencies.
Prior to my current position, I was in private practice for 5 years while I got my MPH so I could join EIS. I did EIS in Fort Collins, CO with the arboviral team and then I did a new leadership program called FLIGHT with CDC in Atlanta, GA. Collectively, I traveled internationally for outbreak response (plague in Madagascar, arboviral outbreaks in American Samoa, Ebola response in the DRC).
