Bio in brief...

Currently, I am working as an emergency veterinarian for Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, D.C. I've also been accepted as a AAAS Fellowship scholar and will be transitioning to my new role as a Biological Risk Management Fellow for the Department of Defense by the end of this year.

Immediately after graduating VMCVM, I took a position as an Associate Veterinarian at Banfield Pet Hospital. During this time I rapidly developed and expanded my small animal clinical skills in diagnostics but most importantly in surgery. I became the lead surgeon at the South Riding, VA location, and by the end of my time at Banfield, I was responsible for the surgical division of 5 hospitals throughout Northern Virginia. I then went on to work at Bond Vet for 1-year before transitioning to relief work.

During my clinical year at VMCVM, I had the opportunity to perform many externships, including with the USDA, USAMRIID, NAFV, HHS-ASPR, New Jersey Department of Agriculture, Virginia Department of Health, National Disaster Medical System, Homeland Security, and even got to travel to Ghana to work with the Ghaniain Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

Before entering VMCVM, I worked as a small animal nurse in small animal emergency hospitals and general practices for 15 years.
