Bio in brief...
At present, I am working as a Veterinary Medical Officer on the Swine Health Team for the USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Veterinary Services (VS), Strategy and Policy unit. My primary responsibilities focus on disease preparedness, response, and policy development.
Prior to joining the Swine Health Team, I spent a year on VS’ Poultry Health Team, working on our national 2022 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) response. I am an active member of one of USDA’s incident management teams and have deployed in support of the virulent Newcastle Disease response, COVID vaccination efforts, and the 2022 HPAI response.
Before joining USDA, I worked as a field veterinarian with Texas Animal Health Commission, completing disease investigations, regulatory testing on Mexican-origin cattle and horses, and managing cattle fever tick-infested cattle herds along the US/Mexico border.
