Bio in brief...

I am a veterinary officer in the US Public Health Service, assigned through CDC to the state of Utah. I am currently the Utah State Public Health Veterinarian at the Utah Department of Health and Human Services. In this role, I promote One Health—a collaborative approach to promoting the interconnected health of humans, animals, and our shared environment. During my career, I have worked in several states and in different roles at the CDC, USDA, and FDA.

I am a collaborative leader and am passionate about closing gaps by developing new bridges, teams, systems, and impactful policies. I enjoy helping others develop their potential. Some of my favorite books are The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell, The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, 1776 by David McCullough, and several by Louis L’Amour and James Herriott. I like spending time with my wife and our kids, camping, gardening, singing (in the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square), playing card games, trail jogging, and making epic catches in Ultimate Frisbee.
