Bio in brief...
At present, I am working as an epidemiologist in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of Tuberculosis Elimination (DTE). My primary responsibilities focus on molecular epidemiology, surveillance, and outbreak investigations for clusters of human tuberculosis cases.
Prior to joining CDC in my current role, I worked in a dairy herd-focused private veterinary practice in the San Joaquin Valley of California, academic practice at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and local public health practice in Fort Worth, Texas. In 2018, I completed CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) training fellowship with CDC Division of Vector-Borne Diseases’ Arboviral Diseases Branch. Following EIS, I served as an epidemiologist and health scientist in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Outbreak Investigations Branch at CDC’s DTE with activities focusing on TB disease and latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) surveillance and zoonotic tuberculosis. From 2020 to 2021, I served as one of the national epidemiologists administering USDA’s National Bovine TB Eradication program and related activities.
I am an active member of the National Association of Federal Veterinarians (NAFV) and the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (ACVPM) and its Epidemiology subspecialty.
