Bio in brief...
At present, I am a Veterinary Medical Officer (VMO) for USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Division of Agricultural Select Agents and Toxins (DASAT).
I am part of a joint USDA/CDC program that regulates the possession, use, and transfer of select agents and toxins (biological agents that threaten public, animal, or plant health). The division I am in specifically manages agriculturally relevant select agents, like Avian Influenza virus, Foot-and-Mouth disease virus, and African swine fever virus. I help enforce the select agent regulations by inspecting entities that possess, use, or transfer these agents.
I have also worked as a VMO in USDA APHIS Animal Care, and for USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) as a Supervisory Public Health Veterinarian (SPHV) and an Enforcement, Investigations, and Analysis Officer (EIAO). I have a lot of insight regarding veterinary jobs associated with USDA (APHIS and FSIS). I am also very familiar with USA Jobs and how to apply for a federal job.
